Hey team! We’ve been getting several questions around how to get started and find patterns (whether it be knitting, crocheting or sewing) that are helpful to get you started making hats that will impact patients facing serious illnesses. We’re so thankful for your interest in serving alongside us. We believe God has big things in store this year for 818 Ministries. Sometimes it’s hard to know where to start…and I wouldn’t either if I had never knitted or crocheted! The good thing is there are endless free resources available to help you and sometimes the best ideas are inspired through even…Pinterest! Just to show you how easy it is, I pulled together some beginner to advanced options for you to check out for my knitters, crocheters and sewers that I found on Pinterest – enjoy! Want to participate in our Give a Box Get a Box Program? What’s that? We want to invest in our volunteers who individually contribute hats and letters on a regular basis. When a volunteer ships us hats or letters in the mail, as a gift we pack up the same box they sent with the necessary supplies needed to continue their involvement with 818 Ministries (yarn, stationary, etc.) Why? We would not be able to impact patients without volunteers who unselfishly give of their time and talent to make hats and write letters. As a small thank you, we want to encourage them and help them continue to serve alongside us. Feel free to reach out to us at 818ministries@gmail.com with questions that you have. We look forward to hearing from you! God is truly blessing this ministry and has done exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think and we’re so fortunate to have so many of you stewarding your time and talent in a way that glorifies God and encourages patients facing serious illnesses! Happy Hat-Making! Until next time, Rebecca Dotson Founder, 818 Ministries
