I hope this email finds you with a good start to your week! I wanted to tell you about our recent Impact Squad visit to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and LeBonheur Children's Hospital. We visited both facilities last weekend and met some of the most amazing families and patients in Memphis, Tennessee. Thank you to each and every volunteer who knitted and crocheted hats until their heart's content over the last several months - it made these visits very special. And thank you to our Impact Squad of nursing students from the University of Tennessee (Bridgett Barrett, Paige Clark and Taylor Coleman) who drove ACROSS THE STATE to serve with us. They did an incredible job encouraging patients and their families!
Here's the recap video from our visit!
October Project: Halloween at UT Medical Center NICU
One of my FAVORITE projects of the year is upon us! Each year 818 Ministries decks out all of the sweet, tiny warriors at UT Medical Center with cocoons like the one you see pictured below. Pinterest is full of ideas for creative patterns for these guys and they are such a fun treat for the families on, what is often, a not-so-fun day!
Click here to view a WBIR article from last year about the project!
We will be collecting hat + cocoon sets until the end of September to be delivered to them in October - we have two full months! Please ship any donations to:
PO Box 1403
Brookhaven, MS 39602
Thanks so much for all you do to impact the lives of patients fighting serious illnesses! We couldn't make days like our visit at St. Jude possible without you!
Cheering for you,
Rebecca Dotson George
