Just wanted to share a quick update from our latest Impact Squad trip. On December 1st, we traveled to Memphis, TN, the location of the main campus of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A group of 4 of us got the great privilege on the 2nd to go onsite at the hospital and visit with patients, siblings and families and give each child a hat, made with love from one of you. God is so faithful and we are grateful for the outpouring of prayers, support and time spent by each of you leading up to this weekend.
Two volunteers, Taryn and Casey, dressed up like Elsa and Anna from the movie Frozen to greet each patient. We then got each child fitted for a hat (in the shape, size, color and personality that suited them) and they made a simple snowflake craft that our volunteer Jill led.
It was an incredible experience and each of us left with such a burden placed on our hearts for these precious children facing serious illnesses. I, personally, can’t wait to go back one day very soon. St. Jude is a very special place.
Many of you have already seen our album of pictures from the trip, but if not, check out our Facebook page. I’ve also shared a link below to our recap video from our trip inside the hospital from the perspective of our volunteers who participated. You don’t want to miss it!
We forsee doing many other trips like this in the future. If you would like to become involved with our Impact Squad, please contact us at 818Ministries@gmail.com for more information!
