I wanted to take a moment this morning to remind everyone of the opportunity volunteers have to gather their friends, classmates, small group buddies, etc. for some time together to serve alongside us through our Impact Club program! Watch the quick 60 second video below for a run down of the program!
The what? Impact Club is our way of having different people groups meet on a regular basis (at least every 6 weeks) to make hats (either crocheted, knitted or sewn depending on the setting) and write letters as a way to be involved in 818 Ministries. Each club has an Impact Club Leader who is responsible for organizing the event and working with myself to obtain needed materials for the club members including yarn, fabric and stationary. All hats and letters will then be shipped to 818 Ministries for distribution.
Impact Clubs are a great idea for small groups, after school (elementary-high school age) programs, Bible studies, Girl Scout troops, etc.
The why? 818 Ministries’ mission is to provide hats and handwritten letters to patients facing serious illnesses. Impact Clubs allow 818 Ministries to reach a larger population of patients by having individuals serve on a regular basis.
